SP Fic Red Shoes Magic: Part Two

YEAH! COMMENT! TELL ME WHAT YA THINK!

________

“This should be safe for the night...”

Bela pulled Kasch into a warehouse, where a few boxes were pulled along the side.

Kasch managed a smile. “Thank you.” she said horsely.

“I'm worried about you Kasch...The shoes are going to kill you soon.” Bela's whiskers drooped.

Kasch shook her head. “No. I'm fine. Don't you worry about me.”

Bela jumped onto a box, making it his bed for the night. “Its time.” He said gravely.

Kasch nodded, walking to the center of a cleared space in the boxes. She took her jacket off, placing it on a crate. Her ripped jeans frayed more, and Kasch ripped the bottoms off entirely, leaving them as shorts. The red shoes visible, Kasch stood completely still in the middle of the warehouse clearing.

In the distance, a clock chimed one.

Bela pressed to the box, cursing the shoes for existing and putting Kasch through this torture.

The clock chimed two.

Kasch took a deep breath, preparing for the magic to take hold og her until dawn.

The clock chimed three.

Bela looked around, cautious of anyone or anything else that might interrupt and try and take Kasch away. When she was dancing, it was his job to protect her.

The clock chimed four.

Kasch ignored the pain, focusing her attention on the clock.

The clock chimed five.

Bela remembered when he found Kasch huddled in the alley two and a half years earlier, covered in blood and dirt.

The clock chimed six.

Kasch knew the next hours would be torture, and that in the morning her feet would be a little more bloody.

The clock chimed seven.

Bela remembered when he lived in a family, and he remembered when he ran away, due to the war. He will always remember the war, in all his 567 years of living.

The clock chimed eight.

Kasch stayed still. Four more.

The clock chimed nine.

Bela unsheathed his claws and dug them into the crate.

The clock chimed ten.

Kasch knew the pain. She knew it well...

The clock chimed eleven.

Bela knew that not only the sanctuary was after Kasch, but also many people with evil intentions. He had to protect her.

The clock.

Chimed.

Twelve.

Kasch stepped onto the shores of ireland, the red shoes hidden in large brown boots and Bela sitting on her shoulder.

"Where to now?" Kasch whispered to Bela.

"To be completely honest, I don't know." Bela replied, licking his muzzle slightly.

Kasch stared at Bela blankly. "You're useless, you know that?"

"Hey! I'm the one who can do magic!" Bela flicked his ears back.

"But honestly Bela, you'd think-"

"You with the cat!"

Kasch was interupted in her scentance by two men and a teenage girl. The first man had brown hair, and had sonething straight strapped to his back. He seemed twenty years old. The second man seemed thirty, dressed in a black coat and black scarf. The teenage girl looked about 16, with black hair and black knuckle gloves.

"May I help you?" Kasch said stiffly.

"What's your name?" The twenty year old said.

"Whats yours?" Bela retorted.

The trio stared.

Kasch stepped forward, pressing a hand to Bela's mouth. "You didn't hear that."

Bela jumped to the ground. "Kasch, these people aren't mortals. They're mages for the sanctuary."

The thirty year old man spoke up. "My name is Necros. Is is Dragona Pine and Kallista Pendragon. The sanctuary only looks to keep you safe."

Kasch backed away quickly. "I don't need protection!" She hissed. "Me and Bela have been fine on our own!"

"We can help you." Dragona said. "We can help you take the shoes off."

"Its not whether i WILL take the shoes off, its if they CAN come off at all!" Kasch yelled.

Necros shifted his weight, looking around hastily. “People are starting to look.” He said softly.

Dragona nodded, as if this was the norm. “We know that. We have a few stratigies that my work.”

“Please let us help you! I hate it when anyone has to suffer!” The girl named Kallista burst out.

Kasch blinked, taken aback from the kindness she was hearing. Bela jumped up on her shoulder again. A small crowd started to gather.

“How...How do I know that you're not just lying?” Kasch's voice was deadly quiet, and the trio had to crane to hear. “Maybe you're just like all the other people. All the other liars.”

Kallista waved her wands quickly. “No! It's not-”

Kasch spun around, wincing in pain.

Dragona and Kallista both pushed at the air, however withought realizing it in different directions. Kasch was flung to the ground, the brown boots flying away. Bela rolled on the street, cursing as the crowd of people scattered in fear. The sanctuary trio was left to stare at the red shoes, and at the bloody skin where Kasch's skin was red and blistering. The red ribbons tying the shoes seemed to eminate magic, ready to kill anyone who came too close. The ribbons tightened, and tightened more at Kasch's scream of pain.

Kallista pressed both hands to her face, covering her gaping mouth. “Oh my god...” she cried.

Bela jumped up, his hackles raised. “Kasch! Lets go!”

Kasch nodded. “Yes.”

Kasch wrapped a arm around Bela's neck, careful not to choke. Bela gathered all his hind leg muscles. Flames curled off his fur, his eyes turning a bright yellow.

“Now!” He yowled. Bela jumped high in the air, leaving flames in his wake. Kasch was pulled after him and his power, as Bela landed and shot off at impossible speed, each step leaving a flame that was quickly extinquished.

Dragona quickly ran after them. Necros laid a hand on his shoulder, holding him back. He silently shook his head.

In the distance, a clock chimed eleven.

The city of London was busy, everyone rushing to the place they were supposed to be when the thunder storm had hit. A lone black cat sat on the side of a road, its green eyes bright in the shadows of dusk. The clock tower chimed seven in the distance. A black hooded figure approached the cat, and sat on the wet curb next to him.

"It didn't work Bela." the figure said, a soft feminine voice hinted with English.

Bela looked to the girl. "The shoes are cursed. you would need a powerful mage to figure out how you could get them off. You know that Kasch."

"They've been on for three years. I don't know. I'm loosing hope." Kasch whispered, softer now. "The witching hour is the worst. I am forced to dance, with these bloody shoes on my feet."

"Bloody literally.." Bela grumbled.

The two looked down to Kasch's feet, where red ballet shoes were, a bright color in the grey street.

Bela flicked his tail. "We still have one more place as a choice. There may be some mages there."

"Where?"

"Dublin City, Ireland."

"Dublin?"

"Its in Ireland."

"You just said that."

"I like to make myself clear."

Kasch stood shakily, wobbling. She turned, opening her arms for Bela to leap into them. She turned and walked down the street.

"I'm sure the sanctuaries are aware of what were doing by now." Kasch said, her vision wavering.

Bela nodded. "Yes, and that will make getting into Ireland itself a lot harder."

"We don't want any trouble. They should just let us be by along our way."

"They want to keep you protected." Bela hissed sarcastically. "They're worried of the shoes."

Kasch abruptly stopped. "The shoes?!"

"They're worried of the shoe's power. Something makes them control you to dance at midnight."

"So?"

"They're afraid that some people may abuse that power."

"I don't even know what makes them dance, besides the knowledge that its coming from the shoes. I just woke up in the street with them, and my family and everything related to me gone. Then you found me."

"Some people may already know of the power. People with more experience."

"That's right. The only magic I have is you and the shoes."

Kasch continued to walk, her frown deepening into a grimace.

Bela noticed "You're in pain."

"You new here?" Kasch growled.

Bela shook his head. Kasch hailed a taxi, hiding Bela in her black jacket.

As the night gave way, a pair hollow eyes following as the taxi drove away. As the taxi turned the corner, the eyes blinked, and turned away, needle flashing.

My time travling, chibi demon, wing flappin, nancy drew dream.

Holy....i just has the WEIRDEST dream!

So, i was pretending to be a guy so i could get work for the queen. I disguised myself yet again, heading down to the playing field or something. O saw a awesome ball game, and joined the game. I WON! I whent back to the house, where my parents where planning on going to the festival. We whent to the festival later that night, and i was still in my second disguise. Heres where it skipps ahead into a few centuries. Apparently, i betrayed the gueen or something, and had to hide. Me, being really bored at the festival, convinced my parents to let me go to the field and practice. I crpssed the fesyival road to get there and a car came speeding down, chasing someone else. I flipped to the other side, aquiring a huge bruse. My parwnts rushed over, asking if i was okay. I nodded, out of breath. (heres where it gets a little cross-fictiony) i tried to see if i could reconize the car, to see wjo was driving it. Then a saw in golden letters on the car- Nebucanezzer. (please dont ask, it was a dream, i blame social studies) all the royal police cars had that written. So i hurridly muttered that to my parents, trying to figure out if the people in the car had seen my face. The car rounded back, and came at me. I took that has a yes, and ran the heck outta there. I ran to the playing fields, however the grass had grown a bit. I tripped, falling into the tall grass. The police were looking around for me, and i considered if ishould just give myself up. Nah, What the heck. So i leapt up, and kicked the nearest guy, by accident (i was aiming for the LEGS!) in the groin. I sprinted the rest of the way to the field. I think i got shot or something, or tranqualized, but i started feeling really limp and sleepy. I just laid there, and they came and hadcuffed me. I, creativly, said "Ow". Then...they cut my fingers off. It didnt hurt, and i had no idea why they did it if it didnt hurt, but it was probably best i didnt tell them in case thay did something worse. The policr car pulled up, and they threw me in it. We drove, la di da, and i thought. This, was where i started to remember this was a dream. "C'mon, Maximum Ride can get herself outta things like this!" then i remembered she had wings, and i didnt. Then i discovered that my dream had given me wings. Heh.

So, the jail. Ah yes. The warden looked old, and mean. So my brain let me skip the briefing. In my cell, i formulated a way of escape. And thats when Mir came along, being my cell partner! Yaaaaaay! I wasnt alone!

Mir, being the super demon she is, kicked the jail bars and crushed them. As a distraction, she did that to all the other bars, freeing everyone. Me and Mir made a run for it. I then remembered all the festival lights. They lit up the way to the festival, and civilization! Then the warden came out. Yippe. So, under preassure, me and Mir ran the opposite way of the festival. Yes. We got caught. Spare you the bloody details.

So, were back at the jail, and the warden is hauling me back to my cell. So i turn and push him away. Then i turned into nancy drew. I reminded him about if childhood, and why he was the warden, and he got all dipressed and sat on a chair by the cliff. I took out all the 'clues' that i had no idea how i got, and made him so depressed he comitted suicide. Lucky me. He jumped off the cliff. I dove to grab him, but it was too late. Then I was hanging from the rail, about to fall. Yeah, i just climbed up when everyone was planning how ro rescue me.

Ah, hello Wardens son. The Son was a angry that us PRINSONERS were all out, and wouldnt stop talking. So i slapped him and hugged him, telling him that his dad just died. He took it...better then i wouldve thought. Like he didnt believe me. Yes, well, i left out the part that i caused him to commite suicide...well, yes.

So, happy but confusing ending, everyone was calling their parents to go home.

Then i remembered my wings.

I say something really encouraging, or smart or somethig, and flapped by wings and GREW INTO A BIRD. phew. Shapeshifters dreams for ya. I flapped away, and somebody, behind me said-

"And the magestic bird flies into the flaming sun, symbolizing the end."

I must say, that was a wonderful bit of poetry!

Picture This- Prolouge

Prologue.

I suggest you read the summary first. It's the post before this...

Mack sat on a large rock by the water, letting the sea breeze blow her dark, nearly black, brown hair.

“Maq Skies!”

Mack turned around to see a girl about her age, five, jump down the rocks to where she was sitting. The girl was dressed in a short, light pink dress, with black shoes and ruffle socks. Her shoulder length strawberry blond hair was pulled back with a pink bow clip.

“Maq Skies!” The girl exclaimed as she sat next to Mack “It's such a windy day!”

Mack smiled, nodding. “It really is Clever!”

Clever smiled back, looking at the crashing waves.

“Maq! Clever!”

The two young girls turned around to see a older girl with a red raincoat running down to meet them.

The girl sat on the other side of Mack, tightening a button on her raincoat. “It's going to start raining soon. It's best we move inside.” She said with a light English accent.

The girl looked at Mack and Clever, complete opposites. Mack was dressed in a dark blue shirt, with little khaki pants. Mack had on her light blue tennis shoes. Clever, if she would be real, and not a figment of Mack's imagination, would be the type to shop for cute clothes. Mack would be the one to curl up and read a good book.

“Virginia Sue! But I want to stay outside!” Clever whined.

“Clever, It's not always necessary to call people by their last name too.” Virginia sighed. “And you need to go in. There's not even a single ship on the horizon. Nothing can be spotted from the lighthouse except for you two on the rocks.”

“But-”

“No.”

“But-”

“No.”

I mean-”

“Inside.”

“Just wait-”

“Now.”

Clever huffed. “Okay. But The minute it stops, I'm coming back out!”

Virginia looked to smile at Mack. “You should to inside too Maq. You're parents may get worried.”

Mack nodded reluctantly. “Fine. I'll go too.”

The trio stood up, Clever holding onto the tail of Virginia's raincoat. Mack led the way, rubbing her cold fingers together. When the trio reached the top, they waved goodbye to each other, and headed in their separate directions. Clever Sue and Virginia Sue walked to the large lighthouse that sat on the edge of the cliff, and Mack Skies walked to the medium size house on the verge of trees, where she lived with her mom, dad, and older sister.

Older, dying sister.

Okay. This is my write on story. The...summary thing.

Like, the thing you'd find on the inside flap.

___________

 Picture This.

Summary.

Mack Skies has a slight problem. Her mind is going haywire just thinking about it.
Eight years earlier, she created a imaginary friend, who went along with her everywhere.
Now, at 13 years of age, Mack is a lonely middle schooler. Her parents are the caretakers of a lighthouse.
Being alone most of her time, Mack has clung to her characters like a lifeline. She creates more, and more, and more.
One day, they become solid.
Supposedly Mack's brain capacity expanded so much that she created and made her characters real.
She thinks its awesome at first.

The she reads a particularly scary horror novel.

Along with her newly real friends, and a school bully, a couple of ferocious Internet bloggers, and a kid who has the IQ higher then Einstein, Mack has to stop a not-so-bad bad guy, a couple of pirates, and a dragon who now calls the lighthouses skies home.

Shortly, Mack has a very complicated life.

Not counting how every single character spells her name 'Maq'.
